Baraja: “We have to keep up our energy, drive and personality”
The Valencia CF coach talks before the match against RCD Mallorca
Valencia CF coach, Rubén Baraja, appeared in a press conference before the LALIGA EA SPORTS game away against RCD Mallorca.
Consecutive victories
“It helps that the results are coming for us. There is still a lot of work to do, many games to play and we have to try to concentrate on the next one -and that is the game against RCD Mallorca. They will be difficult opponents because they are in a good dynamic, they have started the season well, they are getting good results and we are on that path to getting our first victory away from home. We have been self-critical in terms of our away games; in the last two we have had chances to win, and let's see if the momentum of the last two results allows us to perform as I hope against RCD Mallorca.”
Pepelu's return after suspension
“He is a very important player, who can for us. He has been out of action due to the suspension and the games we weren't able to play. Against CP Parla Escuela-Fair Play he had his first minutes again, and he is an option to be a starter.”
RCD Mallorca
“At home, they are a stable side, but their best numbers are away from home. Every game is important and we have a lot at stake with every point and stadium we visit. We have to have a good game. They are a team that generate chances, have energy and don't concede much. We have to continue what we saw against Real Betis in terms of our energy, presence, determination, personality with the ball... we have to take it into this road game."
The match
"In the games against Leganés and Getafe, we had chances, and scoring points is always positive away from home. Mallorca are very intense, press a lot, and we have to be accurate, consistent with our passing and stay alive in the game. We have to keep picking up points. We have to show that we want to get out of the situation. This is not going to be achieved in one or two games, and it seems that it will be a year in which we will have to suffer."
Injuries
"Caufriez still has discomfort and his heel is bothering him. He is getting better, but he still has a little way to go; we will see about him next week. Rafa Mir is progressing well, he completed training today and we will see how he feels and when he can be available. He has to complete training sessions. If that goes well, it could be a possibility for him to be back in midweek."
The transfer market
“We have a situation, which is Thierry's injury, that opens up the possibility of bringing in a player in that position. In addition, we have another squad place to bring in a player who will improve the performance of the squad, as an alternative within the 25 players you have to register. But there are transfer market situations that you cannot control.
Iván Fresneda
“It's November 28th. I'm not going to talk about players from other teams who have contracts, or about the options that there may or may not be. It's not my job.”
